Biographical Note

Joanne Diaz

Joanne Diaz is the author of My Favorite Tyrants (winner of the 2014 Brittingham Prize) and The Lessons (winner of the 2009 Gerald Cable first book award). Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in AGNIThe American Poetry ReviewDIAGRAMThe Missouri Review, Prairie SchoonerThe Southern Review, and Third Coast. She is the recipient of fellowships from the Illinois Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Bread Loaf Writers Conference, and the Sustainable Arts Foundation. She teaches in the English department at Illinois Wesleyan University.
